Dear Editor:

Congratulations to the communities of the Boothbay peninsula, the YMCA, the Y-Arts Program and all of its leaders, chaperones and participants. It has been grand to watch this progress over the decades and now, this Martin Luther King weekend series of events in Atlanta.

Our youth are engaged in a highly creative enterprise promoting skill-building and diversity and learn far more than the notes, lyrics and dance routines. It is so gratifying to get the enthusiastic texts and emails. The costs are perhaps like a trip to Disney World, yet the benefits so much greater. Congratulations for the well-deserved Community Service Award.
