Lincoln County EMA Director Casey Stevens announced a high wind alert for Lincoln County for Thursday, Oct. 18 from 3 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Winds will come from the northwest, with sustained speeds of 15 to 25 mph and gusts up to 46 mph. Stevens said scattered power outages are possible and difficult driving, especially for high profile vehicles, so truck and bus drivers should use extra caution.

Leaf drop during the event may also cause driving hazards.
