Guided hike at Pemaquid Pond Preserve with Coastal Rivers
Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust naturalist Sarah Gladu will lead a gentle winter walk at Pemaquid Pond Preserve in Bremen from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10.
The wooded trail culminates at a lovely lookout on Pemaquid Pond. On the way, the group will practice winter tree identification skills—looking at bark patterns, leaf buds, and other features that offer clues about trees when they are bare of their tell-tale leaves.
Registration is required at coastalrivers.org/events.
The trails at Pemaquid Pond Preserve have little elevation gain. They do feature bumps and dips throughout, as well as rocks and roots to step over, and so require steady footing. See a full description at coastalrivers.org/trails/pemaquid-pond-preserve.
