Guess where this is
For many years people have suggested I do something like the Down East magazine version of the “Where in Maine” photo.
It didn't seem like a very good idea to me. But, since my weekly “experience” in the Register has drawn thousands to consider my sanity, I figured why not?
So we'll start off easy. Please see the image above.
The way this works is, the first two people to guess the location of this subject will receive, free of charge, a signed, limited edition, custom print by me of the image.
All you have to do is send your guess to me, c/o P.O. Box 101, Southport, ME 04576.
Jeanette, our island postal maven, will place your guess in my tiny little mail box (which rarely fills) and I in turn will select the winners by random drawing on August 10. The winners will be informed by me, by mail. And in my “column” of course!
Now, here are some hints of places not to look:
- Metal detecting on any of Elbridge Giles waterfront property
- Urchin diving off Skip Rideout's dock
- Dominic Garvey's phone message machine
- Jeff Brown's phone message machine (circa 1874)
- Ken Brown's video archives
- Jeff Teel's automatic flower watering system and the convertible BMWs that park too close, topless.
- Albert Greenleaf's favorite putter (if it could talk)
Happy hunting.
