Good times with Danny Beal
Local troubadour Danny Beal returns to the Opera House on Wednesday, July 31 at 7:30 p.m. with his friends, The Holy Mackerels and more guest musicians “than you can shake a stick at,” according to Beal.
Stories from the bold coast, the Midcoast, and inland will augment the Maine music and musicians.
Beal invites all to come celebrate the great state of Maine with music and downeast humor on this midsummer night’s eve.
The evening is always “filled with laughter, and more than a few hecklers, but what more would you expect once Mr. Beal takes to the stage,” remarked Opera House director Cathy Sherrill. “Danny has become a summer tradition in Boothbay and even travels with his own black flies. We keep the windows open when Danny is here.”
Beal said, “Should any member of the audience be less than happy with the performance, I will personally provide him/her with a complimentary warm bottle of Moxie.”
It’s offers like that that pack the Opera House.
Tickets for Danny Beal’s Down East Good Time Hour and a Half are $10 in advance or $15 if buyers wait until the day of the show.
The Opera House box office is open Tuesday-Friday, from 10 a.m. 4 p.m., at 86 Townsend Avenue, or by calling 207-633-5159.
Doors for seating open at 7 p.m. Refreshments served. Beal will have the warm Moxie.
