A good crisis?
Dear Editor:
I have enjoyed reading the bantering between Mr. Sample and Mr. Nehring on gun control.
I do not always agree with Mr. Sample’s views. I don’t think there are many other countries’ governments who would agree either.
However, Mr. Sample’s latest reply to Mr. Nehring’s letter refers to another good crisis for those advocating gun control. I find it hard to understand how he thinks the killing of 28 and injuring two innocent elementary school children and their teachers in Newtown (2012), or recently the killing of 14, injuring 21 in San Bernardino, or the killing of 15, injuring 24 at Columbine High School (1999), or the killing of 33, injuring 23 at Virginia Tech in (2007), or any of the over 69 other mass shootings in this country since 9/11, as a good crisis.
I’m not sure our forefathers who wrote the Second Amendment, with their one shot muzzle loaders, would see the logic of the multi shot assault rifles and hand guns in the hands of anyone but the military.
