Give support
Dear Editor:
We finally get a member on the board of selectmen for the town of Boothbay, who was elected by the people and willing to work for the people, and what happens — she is shot down by her fellow selectmen.
She deserves better than that! I watched a board meeting on TV a couple of weeks ago and when our select-woman asked if maybe the people should be given more information on town matters, the answer she got from the chairman of the board was “we do what the town attorney tells us.” Does that tell you anything?
Is it so wrong for the townspeople to be kept aware of town business? Come on, people, we elected her, we should give her a chance and our support! We need more like her!
As we all know, like a puddle of water, if it sits around too long it gets stagnant. Webster’s dictionary defines “to stagnant” is to be “inactive,” simply stagnating in the job.
