Gingerbread House Building with Kevin Kiley
Aspiring architects, baking engineers, creative spirits–all are invited to attend the Gingerbread House Building class at the Opera House at Boothbay Harbor on Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 3 to 4 p.m.
Opera House technical director and set designer Kevin Kiley will share his secrets for constructing a masterpiece that won’t lose its roof, or shed its decorations, and will survive the holiday season.
Doors will open at 2:30 p.m. The class is appropriate for all ages; kids under 12 need to be accompanied by an adult. A $5 materials fee donation at the door is requested for each participant. To register for the
class call 207-633-5159 to ensure enough building materials for all.
With construction confidence under their belts, attendees may want to enter their handiwork in the Gingerbread Spectacular. Entry forms are available now at the Opera House. A team of judges will award prizes for Most Spectacular, Best Holiday Spirit, Most Delicious Looking, Best Representation of a Local Landmark, Most Hilarious, and more!
The kick-off to the weekend-long Spectacular begins Friday, Dec. 11, at 5:30 p.m. The exhibit will be open all day on Saturday, Dec. 12 10 a.m. – 4.p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 13 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
