Frank Vignola is one of the most extraordinary guitarists performing before the public today. On Thursday, July 18, at 7:30 p.m., he will be joined by Vinny Raniolo, one of the country’s elite guitarists, in concert at the Opera House in Boothbay Harbor. The two return to the Opera House stage by audience demand, having performed an unforgettable show in 2012.

Vignola’s stunning virtuosity has made him the guitarist of choice for many of the world’s top musicians including Ringo Starr, Madonna, Donald Fagen, Wynton Marsalis, Tommy Emmanuel and guitar legend Les Paul.  

He has performed with the Boston Pops and the New York Pops and the New York Times has named him “one of the brightest stars of the guitar.”

Hard to classify, Vignola is a fan of classical, rock, R&B, pop and jazz. His performances cover a broad array of genres from Gershwin to the Beatles to Gypsy Jazz.

Vignola has written 18 guitar instruction books and recorded six education DVDs and has performed hundreds of clinics and masterclasses at major universities and colleges throughout the world.

Raniolo, at the age of 28, has already proved himself to be one of the best in the business, performing and recording with Bucky Pizzarelli, Tommy Emmanuel and David Grisman. During the past five years, while touring with Vignola, the two have been invited to perform in some of the most prestigious concert halls and festivals in the world. Their jaw-dropping technique and incredible showmanship has made them an unforgettable duo.
