Feeding our future: Free summer meals for kids in Lincoln County
Healthy Lincoln County and several local organizations are coming together to provide youth with free, healthy meals throughout the summer through the USDA funded Summer Food Service Program. The program is open to all children ages 18 and under, no questions asked, and no registration required. Meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), age or disability, and there will be no discrimination during the meal service. Healthy Lincoln County sponsors the listed sites that are open to the community to any child in the area. Meals will be provided, at a first come, first serve basis, at several sites and times (in alphabetical order by town):
- Boothbay – Clifford Playground, June 24 – Aug. 21; Breakfast and Lunch 10:35-10:50 a.m., Tues. and Thurs.
- Damariscotta – CLC YMCA, June 23 – Aug. 22; Breakfast 7:30-8:30 a.m., Lunch 12:30-1 p.m., Mon.-Fri.
- Damariscotta – Ledgewood Court Apartments, June 23 – Aug. 20; Breakfast and Lunch 11:05-11:20 a.m., Mon. and Wed.
- Edgecomb – Davis Island Townhomes Neighborhood, June 24 – Aug. 21; Breakfast and Lunch 11:40-11:55 a.m., Tues. and Thurs.
- Rockland Public Library, June 23 – Aug. 22; Lunch 10 a.m-2 p.m., Mon.-Fri.
- Tenants Harbor – St. George Community Development, June 23 – Aug. 22; Breakfast and Lunch 9 a.m.-noon, Mon.-Fri.
- Thomaston Public Library, June 23 – Aug. 22; Breakfast and Lunch 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Mon.-Fri.
- Waldoboro – Brookside Mobile Home Park, June 23 – Aug. 21; Breakfast and Lunch 9:45-10 a.m., Mon. and Wed.
- Waldoboro – Medomak Valley Middle School, June 23 – Aug. 22; Breakfast and Lunch 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m., Mon.-Fri.
