Edgecomb Fire Rescue June report
Edgecomb Fire Rescue responded to 27 calls in June, compared to 25 calls in May. June calls included four fires, five fire alarms, six medical emergencies (ME), 11 motor vehicle accidents (MVA), and one call for a tree down. For the year to date, we have responded to 136 calls.
We hosted a joint training exercise with Wiscasset, Westport Island and Alna fire departments on “Ladder Training,” held at the Eddy Edgecomb School. The participants sharpened their skills with ladder carries, raises, placement, and overall safe ladder operations. In addition, we had a training session on “Firefighter Down CPR” at our June 24 meeting. Other training included our monthly “Truck Check” of all apparatus and equipment. Ongoing training is critical in maintaining our readiness to respond to any call.
