Dunk tank for the animals Aug. 28

Lawrence Pitcher of Boothbay Harbor is continually working to raise money for the benefit of animals, whether it is for the local animal shelter or animal hospital.

He has recently organized a fundraiser that will be fun “for the whole family.”

On Saturday, Aug. 28, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be a dunk tank set up in the parking lot of the Meadow Mall, Boothbay Harbor. The money raised through the chances to dunk employees at Nathan’s Pharmacy, “possibly a Boothbay Harbor police officer or two,” and other volunteers will be used to help organizations care for animals.

“We’re hoping a lot of people show up, maybe enjoy an ice cream from Downeast Ice Cream or pizza from Boothbay House of Pizza, too, while waiting your turn to dunk someone,” said Pitcher.
