After a longer than usual drought in DEYC social gatherings, the much-anticipated date of Saturday, March 19 proved to be an unforeseen miserably rainy day in Southport!

The disastrous weather on our much-anticipated rendezvous date proved to be a welcome opportunity for intimate time and conversations with small groups of good friends. Carol McCarthy, our gracious host, welcomed visitors to her lovely home in Southport which offered a cozy fireplace and an array of diverse artwork.

The small group of party goers included board members Bob and Jean McKay, and John and Sharon Ryan. Also present were Dana and Jane Mulholland, Ted and Jill Hugger, Rick and Mary Pollak, Jen Ross Davis and Steve Marin and Linda Clapp.

The food table offered an array of delightful choices including glazed chicken wings, wrapped franks, black bean and corn salsa, spicey drumsticks, fresh shrimp, and a delicious crab dip.

The DEYC members who neglected this event because of weather missed a wonderfully fun-filled opportunity. We meet again in April for the club’s last off-season gathering at the home of John and Sharon Ryan.
