Dave Cleaveland photography at library
Dave Cleaveland is a self-taught photographer who started taking pictures with a Kodak 110 Instamatic when he was in high school. He studied videography in college, working for a local TV station when he graduated.
Cleaveland made the jump to professional photography when he took a job as a resort photographer in South Carolina. A year later he bought the company and spent 10 years building it, shooting golf and ski events, family portraits, as well as some advertising.
In 2000, he sold his company and moved back to Maine, where he met and married his wife, Colleen. After a little “prodding” from his wife, Dave joined the digital revolution, and has been capturing scenes from above and around the state of Maine and New England ever since.
His current “stock” photography includes over 7,000 aerial images. His work has been featured in Down East, Outdoor Photographer, Yankee, 6Q, and Conde Nast Magazines, and several websites, including www.visitmaine.com, the Maine Office of Tourism’s website.
Dave is a professional freelance photographer and videographer, living in Wiscasset with his wife and son. More of Dave’s work can be seen at www.maineimaging.com, and this month at Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library.
The library is open Tuesday through Saturday: Tuesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
