In the Oct. 19 edition of the Boothbay Register, Town Manager Dan Bryer said either town could veto the Nov. 7 referendum. This is not true. AOS 98 officials corrected him saying it's an aggregate vote so the totals from both towns would be counted in determining the outcome.

On Oct. 21, AOS Superintendent Bob Kahler confirmed the vote is an aggregate vote and provided the newspaper with the Boothbay-Boothbay Harbor School Charter provision in which Section 5 outlines the process. "It must be approved by the district voters. As you are aware, budget votes in the CSD are similar in design. It's aggregate of votes of both towns," he wrote.
