Dear Editor:

Big-time congratulations to first year coach Matt Brewer and his small in number (nine), dynamic playing Lady Seahawk junior varsity team.

Coach Brewer worked closely with each player to develop her individual skills, thus molding a scrappy, tenacious, never quit team that was exciting to watch both offensively as well as defensively.

The game that really showed its never quit attitude was the away game at Oak Hill. Much to the dismay of OH, our ladies rallied to tie the Raiders in regulation time, and winning the unthinkable by one point in overtime. We had just 7 players to Oak Hill's 13!

We all thought that in the season's last game, Oak Hill would come back for revenge, big time. Our ladies played their aggressive style with many take-aways, on-the-mark passing, great board control at both ends, turning rebounds into points, and solid shooting of 3's, 2's and free throws to seal an impressive win.

So, congratulations to Capt. MacKenzie Abbott, Angie Perkins, Tory Rackliff, Ashley Reed, Nicole Rice, Capt. Genevieve Taylor, Alexis Welch, Liz Wright, Olivia Zaragozi, Manager, Lisa Pawlowski and Coach Brewer for an outstanding season, which was great to watch.
