Both the Middle School and Senior High Youth Groups will start the fall season this Sunday, Sept. 9, with new Youth Ministry Coordinator, Roosevelt “Robo” Bishop. Bishop, a 26-year-old Boothbay native, is thrilled to take on the role of youth ministry leader at the Congregational Church.

The first youth gatherings will take place at the church, with the Middle School Youth Group meeting at 4 p.m. and the Senior Highs meeting at 5:15 p.m. so that there will be a short intentional overlap of groups. This Sunday’s meetings will focus primarily on getting to know one another and, as Bishop put it, “mapping out together what we would like to collectively accomplish. It is my intent that these meetings be not only enjoyable, but also an experience to nurture our understanding of ourselves, each other, and what we can do to make the world around us reflect the ideals of compassion and understanding.”
