Calling all coldwater swimmers! Coffee lovers! And creatives! (Adults and Kids alike). Join us Memorial Day morning, May 30 and kick off the holiday like never before. Two Maine Mermaids host year-round coldwater community swims and for this new moon we’re teaming up with Wicked Joe Coffee, and the Merry Barn Writers’ Retreat to bring you a special Memorial Day event – Coffee Tasting, Flower Crown Making, and Coldwater Swimming!

Tickets for Coffee and Crowns: $45, *Coldwater Dip, free

First, Coffee! (For the big kids), 8:30 a.m., Merry Barn, 417 River Road, Edgecomb.

Kari Guddeck, the quality director for Wicked Joe, and fellow coldwater aficionado, is going to lead us through a coffee tasting, of coffees from different origins and roast levels. To accompany the tasting, you're invited to enter a friendly little coffee cake competition. Bring your best coffee cake - whether you've been testing a recipe or you're excited to throw something together on a whim! We'll sample the cakes, vote on our favorites, and the winner will receive a goodie basket courtesy of Wicked Joe! Not in the mood to cook? Come to taste, and help vote. 

Then, Crowns! (For big kids and kiddos alike). We’ll lead you through a magical flower crown making, with our handmade crown bases, the freshest spring blossoms and fairy lights! These crowns will be the hit of your holiday party, and can be refreshed with new blossoms all season long. And, they’ll make quite the accessory for the coldwater dip… 

Last, Swim! (All are invited). We'll wrap up our time together with an ocean dip in our flower crowns at Barrett's Park in Boothbay Harbor at 10:30 a.m. All are welcome for this part of the event.
