Civil War letters of local soldiers read at annual meeting
The Boothbay Region Historical Society (BRHS) annual meeting, which will be held Tuesday, May 20, at 4 p.m. at the museum located at 72 Oak Street in Boothbay Harbor, is open to the society’s members and friends and to the general public.
The brief business meeting will include a summary of BRHS activities over the past year, and the election of trustees and officers. Accepting an invitation to serve an additional term on the board of trustees are Sarah Giles, Susan Lloyd, Leigh Reinecke and Barbara Wilson. Nominated to fill a two-year vacancy is Lisa Orne Hallinan; nominated to fill a three-year vacancy is Jim Botti.
Kay Wilder, Howie Barter, Judy Eastwood and Sarah Giles have been nominated for reelection as president, vice president, secretary and treasurer, respectively.
Following the business meeting, members of the exhibit committee responsible for the popular and currently running Civil War Exhibit will read local soldiers’ letters.
At the conclusion of the program, there will be an opportunity to enjoy light refreshments and conversation.
Because seating is limited, those wishing to attend should call the museum at 207-633-0820 to reserve seats. If leaving a message, please give name, how many and phone number. Reserved seats will be held until 15 minutes before the meeting. Debbie Carbone, who lives just past the museum, very kindly will allow parking in her lot for this event.
