Dear Editor:
On February 19, I had elective, but extensive back surgery. Since then, I have been recuperating at home and following my medical professionals' rules: no bending, lifting, or twisting and no driving until given the OK. I am an active, independent, single woman so this has been difficult for me. It is hard to ask people for help.
I cannot tell you how this community has rallied to support me. Phone calls, cards, visits, meals, rides, walks, help with my cats, shopping for me, encouragement and positive energy. I can feel the love. It has made my recovery so much easier and actually fun.
You have all been so dear. This is a truly remarkable place that we live in.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I can hardly wait to pay it forward!
