Dear Editor:

Although I have not followed Boothbay basketball closely this season, I feel compelled to write after having read Steve Solloway's recent article in the Portland Press Herald.

Many lessons can hopefully be learned from the situation he described. My takeaway is simply this: it would be hard to imagine a better example of leadership than that displayed by Andrew Hallinan.

Stepping up amid that type of adversity is precisely what a captain needs to do. Congratulations, Andrew. Well done.
