No one was hurt in a single-vehicle accident Nov. 14 on Route 27 in Edgecomb. Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department reported a tree service bucket loader truck traveling north on Route 27 lost control around 2:09 p.m. near the fire station. Brandon Brewer, 38, of China was driving the truck owned by Chavarie Tree Service of Sidney. 

Lt. Brendan Kane reported driver error resulted in the accident. “The vehicle got caught up in the shoulder and overcorrected.” Kane said Brewer lost control, the vehicle rolled over into the opposite lane and the woodchopper rolled over into the northbound ditch. Brewer was taken to a hospital by Boothbay Region Ambulance Service for observation.

Route 27 was closed for several hours while the road was cleared, reported Kane.
