Brotherly love
Dear Editor:
A wise man once told me, “If you have something you want to give to me, or something you want to say about me, do it while I'm here because when I'm gone, I will never know.”
I am writing this letter at Christmas time to let my brother Bob know what an impact he's had on my life and how he's always been there for me.
I lost my Dad one day before my 17th birthday, so my older brother Bob became my mentor. When I looked for guidance, he has always been there for me. I still call him when I need that guidance as I did a few weeks ago. He always has the answers and he's always looked out for his little brother.
Bob got married at age 17 and so did I. Bob plays guitar and sings and so do I. Bob drove an oil truck and so did I. Bob is an oil burner technician and so am I. Coincidence? No.
I just want my brother to know how lucky I am to have him as a brother. He has been through a lot lately, physically, and I figure this way, he'll know exactly how much I love and respect him. What a better time to let him know than at Christmas time.
Merry Christmas and I love you brother. Hope you're here for many, many more.

P.S. My sister, Gladys, has been here for me, too. It's nice to be the baby brother.
