Boothbay Region Elementary School celebrated their graduating students June 20 during the annual Eighth Grade Recognition Night. Assistant Principal Julianne Hansbury led the event celebrating the 37 students in the BRHS class of 2027 and recognized them for their efforts and achievements throughout the year.

Hansbury presented the Secretary of State Eighth Grade Citizenship Award to Sophia Mansfield. The award goes to Maine students who demonstrate academic success, devote time and effort to their endeavors, and strive to make contributions in their community. According to Hansbury, Mansfield was chosen for her artistic, athletic, academic and civic contributions to her school and community.

Teachers and staff presented awards to outstanding students for accomplishments in and outside the classroom. Awardees were (in alphabetical order):
