The traditional opening reception will be held on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 14, from 1-4 p.m. during the regular gallery hours.

This impressive array of mediums, techniques and imagination will entertain all viewers and is guaranteed to evoke the wow factor.

BRAF’s beginnings as a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) dates back to 1965 when a group of local artists, both year-round and summer residents, initiated a foundation that was designed to promote the presence of local art in the Boothbay region. Their first mission was to provide programs for the Boothbay region public schools and to establish an ongoing annual Scholarship Fund for graduating seniors who are planning to pursue higher education in the field of the visual arts. Our target area today includes the entire peninsula.

That first mission is still observed each year when BRAF hosts the annual Student Show during the month of May. We have also expanded our non-profit members’ gallery with a mission to create opportunities for people of all ages to enjoy, learn from, and participate in the visual arts
