Boothbay Region Lions Club
With spring in full swing, 21 members and two guests met at the clubhouse last week for our bi-monthly meeting. Come for dinner and see what you're missing - this past week was Parmesan chicken, baked potato, peas and Marcia Soler's delicious carrot cake.
Prayers and well wishes went out to several members and relatives.
District 41 2nd VDG Tia Knapp was on hand to present the club with the 2016-17 Lions International Centennial Service Challenge patch for our banner. Lion Tia updated us on District events and ways of helping those needing eyeglasses or hearing aids. The annual convention is being held at the Samoset Resort and should be another fun-filled event.
Lion Duane is keeping busy as our Zone chair. The Damariscotta Lions will be hosting the next Zone meeting April 12. Let Lion Duane know if you will be attending.
Plans are in the works for an August calendar - stay tuned. The club is also researching Bingo which will be held at the clubhouse.
Our tail twister left early so no fines were levied. The 50/50 was won by Lion Jim Dobens who was not in attendance and the cheer raffle was donated back to the club by Lion Joyce Dinnar.
One donation was approved this month to Rebuilding Together. Stephanie Hawke is scheduled to be our guest speaker April 25 if the State House takes care of all business before then.
Want to be a Lion? Just ask! We welcome new members!
