Boothbay Select Board Chairman Chuck Cunningham, Town Manager Dan Bryer and the Landscape Committee recently gathered to thank Paul Coulombe and Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens for their generosity in providing the resources to landscape the region’s entrance. In brief remarks, Cunningham stated “The town of Boothbay would like to thank Paul Coulombe and the Botanical Gardens for their support of the landscaping project which funded the project in its entirety.”

The committee began work in December 2017 with the creation of this vision statement: “The Boothbay Landscape Committee will create a landscape plan that helps complete the enhancement and preservation of Boothbay Center; it will be welcoming, attractive, and inspired, fitting the tone and manner of the heritage of our community. The plan consists of 4 sections: Route 27 to Country Club Road, The Boothbay Common and Town Hall, the Roundabout, and Corey Lane and is designed to offer seasonal color from late April through October with some of the selection of plants chosen offering winter interest as well.”

Committee Co-Chair Susan Whitehouse commented, “We worked as a team taking into consideration many variables to make this plan as attractive and functional as possible, while creating a welcoming attractive entry to our town. We hope both our community and the many visitors who come here will enjoy this nice addition to the region. We are most appreciative of our generous benefactors—Paul Coulombe and Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in providing the support to make this project happen.”
