Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club
Unfortunately this first column of the New Year will be the subject of a major truncation not due to the cold but other weather concerns. As I write, I am 39 miles east of Cape Hatteras headed for the Chesapeake Bay, then Baltimore and home to Maine on Tuesday, Jan. 2. We have 17-foot seas and 32 knot headwinds and the resultant pitching and rolling has interrupted satellite transmission and reception.
Work has temporarily slowed down on the construction project but the crews will be back this week and the finishing touches are being handled on the modular units..
If you should read this before the 5th, remember the January party at the vice commodore’s home on Southport. If you need directions or parking information, please feel free to call me.
Happy New Year greetings come rolling in from Commodore Rob and Sandy, from VC Gardiner, and from RC Liz and Scott. Charles and Carole join Donna and Louise and me in also penning our very warm wishes. Warm being the prominent part of the wish.
