Boothbay Harbor officer nomination papers available Jan. 22
Boothbay Harbor recently announced seven openings for officers on six committees. Nomination papers will be available from the town clerk Jan. 22.
The following three-year seats are open due to expiring terms for listed members:
Board of Selectmen and Overseers of the Poor: Alyssa Allen and Michael Tomko
Community School District School Committee: Peggy Splaine
Community School District Board of Trustees: Ronnie Campbell
Boothbay Region Water District Board of Trustees: Merritt Blakeslee
Boothbay-Boothbay Harbor Cemetery District Trustee: Patricia Minerich
Boothbay Harbor Sewer District Board of Trustees: Deryl Kipp
Nomination papers must be returned to the Boothbay Harbor Town Clerk by 4:30 p.m. March 3. Candidates must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 and registered to vote in Boothbay Harbor.
Voting for the officers will be held at the Boothbay Harbor Fire Station May 2 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Town meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m. May 3 at the fire station, where the officers will be sworn in.
In November, the town also announced three vacancies for alternates on two municipal boards. The Port Committee has two open alternate positions, and the Board of Appeals has one open alternate position. Applications are available at the town office or on the town website at www.boothbayharbor.org
