The Boothbay Region Seahawk field hockey team continues to show Class C opponents they are the real deal as they improved to 7-1-1 with a 2-1 win over the Oak Hill Raiders on Tuesday, Sept. 30.

UPDATED: Goals by twin sisters, sophomores Zuri Smith and Moriah Smith gave Boothbay a 2-0 lead heading into the second half.

Oak Hill’s Izzy Whitaker cut the Seahawks’ lead in half with a third quarter goal but Boothbay kept the Raiders (1-8) from tying the score the rest of the way.

Sophie White had five saves for Boothbay and Oak Hill got six saves from goalie Ella Martin.

The Seahawks, who recently moved to fourth place from fifth place in Class C South, travel to Winthrop (fifth place, 5-2) on Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 1 to take on the Ramblers.
