Boothbay Civic Association meeting Oct. 5

Mon, 09/26/2022 - 8:15am

The Boothbay Civic Association will be meeting at the Boothbay Town Office on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m.

We need to have more volunteers help us regroup and to work on more projects.

Over the years, the BCA helped and raised money to help the the town of Boothbay for Christmas lights on the Common. CMP used to run a Christmas Lights Decoration Contest for Maine. One year Boothbay
won 1st prize for the year. We had the boats, trees and many other decorations up. We used to have a Lobster Stew Supper at the Boothbay Fire Station to raise money. But now we need more help from the Boothbay area communities this year for Christmas Lights on the Common. We have the boats and we need help to get them ready and up.

Over the years we have helped the Ice Rink Committee get started and now they are part of the BCA. We are working on getting a covered ice rink started. We have some people interested in getting it started.

Again we need more help from Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, Southport, and Edgecomb and even more. People do not have to be members to help. Please come to our meetings as a guest and join if you would like to. We really welcome your help and ideas.

For more information please call Eve Jamieson, 350-8046, or Dawn Gilbert, 633-4500.
