BH Opera House: Singer-songwriters Jay Nash and Brooks Hubbard
The historic Opera House in Boothbay Harbor welcomes a well-traveled duo of musicians this October. Individually acclaimed, Jay Nash and Brooks Hubbard team up on Saturday, Oct. 18, to bring an evening of original music to the stage, sharing stories of the road traveled.
Jay Nash is a troubadour who’s traveled tens of thousands of miles crossing the US, settling in with audiences of different backgrounds. Influenced by The Grateful Dead, Cat Stevens, and Dylan at a young age, Jay picked up the guitar and began to play – eventually performing in New York City and Los Angeles and on stages across the country. He teamed up with Josh Day and formed the critically acclaimed group The Contenders and has continued the life of the troubadour, for decades now. Fans of The Band, John Hiatt and Little Feat will savor his music, as will anyone with an ear for well written music.
Brooks Hubbard is a national touring independent artist from the mountains of rural New England. Since the age of three, his connection with music has led him on a path of continuous growth, both as an artist and human being. From writing songs about the Iraq war at age fifteen to recording with members of Jackson Browne and James Taylor’s bands, countless house shows and concert venues , to opening for artists including KT Tunstall, Robert Cray, Reckless Kelly and Stephen Kellogg. Brooks has become a powerful singer, songwriter, and entertainer.
