The following local students have been named to the dean's list at Bates College in Lewiston for the fall semester ending in December 2016.

Samuel Levin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred R. Levin of Boothbay, is a 2014 graduate of Gunnery. He is majoring in classical and medieval studies at Bates.

Owen Lewis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jon Lewis of Newcastle, is a 2015 graduate of Lincoln Academy. He is majoring in biological chemistry at Bates.

Sophia Thayer, daughter of Mr. Peter E. Thayer and Mrs. Kerry M. Lyons of Boothbay, is a 2014 graduate of Boothbay Region High School. She is majoring in women and gender studies and history at Bates.
