Back to Hunker

Tue, 11/24/2020 - 1:45pm

On Thursday, Nov. 19 BHML flipped a switch and went back to Curbside/Windowside service only.  With Maine surging and the difficulty maintaining physical distance in the library’s lobby area, we decided it was safest for all to return to our outside service model.

This time around, appointments are not required for curbside pickup. Call us when you arrive in the parking lot 633-3112 and we’ll bring out your holds. Or, drop by Tuesday - Saturday 2-4: p.m. and pick up your holds at the window by the book drop.

Need to print?  Call 633-3112 for instructions on where to send your document; we’ll print it for you and you can pick it up Windowside.

We’re currently strategizing how we can add browsing (the most beloved of all library activities) into these outside service models. We’ve got something cooking, but you have any ideas, feel free to send them our way!

On the brighter side...we’re excited to encourage both the young and the less young to read your way through the winter with our Winter Reading Challenge!

Online Beanstack Challenge: Kids and your grown-ups visit https://bbhlibrary.beanstack.org/ to accomplish reading challenges, earn activity badges, and write reviews, and earn tickets for raffle prizes.  We’ll be cheering you on all winter with High-5 prize drawings on Jan. 5,  Feb. 5 and March 5.

Need help getting started with Beanstack? Contact Bethany at 633-3112 or via email at tech@bbhlibrary.org.

Paper Challenge: Grown-ups and paper-lovers we’ve got a Winter Reading Challenge for you, too! Try out new book genres, and experience new authors using our guided challenge checklist. For each category read, you’ll earn a raffle ticket you can use towards High 5 prizes, or the grand prize. Learn more about Winter Reading at https://bbhlibrary.org/winter-reading-challenge/.
