Sunday, August 09, 2026 - 10:00 amBoothbay Railway Village Museum will host its highly anticipated annual Children’s Day this Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. BRVM is located at 586 Wiscasset Road/Route 27, Boothbay.
The family-friendly event features a full day of activities across the Museum's historic 4-acre village green. Included with regular Museum admission, attendees can enjoy lawn games, arts and crafts, bounce houses, a water slide, a slip-and-slide, and signature barrel and train rides. Families planning to use the water attractions are encouraged to bring bathing suits and towels.
This year’s event also features a special appearance by the Pollination Station. Local food trucks and professional face painting will be available on-site for an additional purchase. Admission includes access to all festival activities as well as the museum’s permanent historical exhibits.

- 4th Annual Founder’s Day (Sunday, Aug. 16 | 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.): The excitement continues with a special celebration honoring Museum founder George McEvoy and his lifelong dedication to local history. On Founder’s Day the Museum honors his vision by offering free admission to all residents of surrounding peninsula towns, including Edgecomb, Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, East Boothbay, Barter’s Island, and Southport.
- Mid Maine Sports Car Club Gathering (Sunday, Aug. 23): Gear up for a spectacular afternoon on the Village Green! Museum visitors can check out a stunning lineup of vehicles and swap stories with members of the Mid Maine Sports Car Club as they gather on-site.
- Cocktails & Chrome (Saturday, Aug. 29 | 6-9 p.m.): Gather your friends for an unforgettable summer night supporting the preservation of our automotive heritage. Your evening begins with a train ride to the Antique Auto Museum for hors d'oeuvres and a celebratory beverage of your choice. The fun continues back on the Village Green with a traditional lobster bake and dancing under the stars to the incredible Don Campbell Band!
- Cars & Coffee (Sunday, Aug. 30 | 7:30 – 11 a.m.): Calling all classic car lovers! Bring your prized vehicle down to the museum to celebrate the final Sunday of the month. It is the perfect opportunity to grab a cup of coffee, connect with fellow auto enthusiasts, and talk shop.
