Dear Editor:

Several weeks ago our beloved dog Zack suddenly became acutely ill. As we are summer residents and had no contact with a vet here, we rushed him to Boothbay Animal Hospital.

Although the staff there had never seen us before and seemed very busy, we immediately had doctors, nurses and support staff caring for Zack and for us, too. Although he could not be saved, the staff spent a considerable amount of time with us, assuring us that there were no symptoms that could have been seen any earlier and we had done all we could. Their comfort and sympathy was heartfelt, even including a hug that was badly needed.

The residents of the Boothbay area are so fortunate to have this excellent facility and wonderful staff, and words cannot express how thankful we are to all of them for their help through this painful experience.
