American Legion Post 36
One of Boothbay’s favorite fall traditions is almost here - the BIG annual Post 36 Yard Sale and Craft Fair! Mark your calendars for Saturday, Oct.. 4, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Boothbay Common. This year’s event promises to be bigger, better, and more exciting than ever.
The Post has worked hard to ensure quality control over items, and thanks to generous community donations, shoppers will find treasures worth coming out for. Expect to see beautiful furniture, beds, and even larger items like a dinghy and a kayak with paddle. And of course, there will be table after table of smaller treasures just waiting for a new home. Whether you’re looking for practical bargains or something unique, this sale is sure to deliver.
Shoppers might want to bring a checkbook along with their cash - because while the deals are incredible, you may find something just a little bigger (and too good to pass up) than what you planned for your wallet!
For those looking to downsize before heading south for the winter, this is your chance to join the fun and earn a little travel money for gas and tolls. Reserve a space for just $25, bring your items, and let Post 36 provide the crowd of eager buyers.
But that’s not all—at the same time, the Craft Fair will be in full swing! Many familiar artisans who you see each month during the summer will be there, along with new craftspeople showcasing their work. Whether you’re a hobbyist testing the waters or a seasoned crafter, this fair is a perfect chance to connect with the community, network with other creators, and share your handmade goods. Even if you’re just browsing, you’ll find plenty of unique items you won’t see anywhere else.
And don’t forget to bring your appetite! Hot dogs, hamburgers, and snacks will be available throughout the day to keep the energy up while you shop, sell, and mingle.
For those interested in joining as a vendor - whether for the Yard Sale or the Craft Fair - the cost is just $25 for a 10-foot x 20-foot (or larger) space. To reserve your spot, contact the Post at (207) 633-4487, or reach out to Cathy Moroney at cmoroney96@gmail.com or David Patch at dapatch66@gmail.com.
Best of all, every purchase you make supports Post 36. Your “payment” is truly a donation, and those funds are critical in helping the Legion maintain its mission: providing both veterans and the community with an affordable, welcoming place to gather and host events.
So gather your friends, grab your shopping bags, and head to the Boothbay Common on Oct. 4 from 8 to 3 for one of the best events of the season - the BIG annual Post 36 Yard Sale and Craft Fair!
