The Windjammer Days Annual Street Parade is set for Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 4:00 PM, arriving downtown around 4:30 PM. This beloved community tradition brings locals and visitors together for a festive, high-energy procession through the heart of Boothbay Harbor.

This year, we are thrilled to announce our 2025 parade theme: The U.S. Coast Guard! As guardians of our waters, the Coast Guard plays an essential role in our maritime heritage. This theme invites participants to celebrate their lifesaving missions, rich history, and deep connection to the Boothbay region.

We’re calling on creative and spirited individuals, businesses, and community groups to join the fun! Whether you walk, march, float, or perform, this is your chance to make a splash. Need inspiration? Here are a few ideas:

• Honor the Coast Guard with a float showcasing their heroic rescues and dedication to maritime safety.
• Celebrate our local maritime traditions—think fishing boats, boatbuilders, and the beauty of life on the Maine coast.
• Get playful! Picture a group of kids dressed as sea creatures, or a “pet parade” featuring (well-behaved) dogs decked out in sailor or lobster costumes.
• Bring the energy with a local band, dance troupe, or stilt walkers keeping the crowd entertained.
• Showcase Boothbay Harbor’s history with vintage cars, historical reenactors, or nautical-themed displays.

No idea is too big or too small! Let your imagination take the helm and make this year’s parade an unforgettable experience for all.

Help Keep the Tradition Alive

Did you know that hosting a parade comes with expenses? The Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce organizes the Windjammer Days Street Parade, covering costs such as event insurance, parade banners, and special performances like the Kora Karts and local bands.
