The third annual Lobster Roll 5K run/walk, a fundraiser for the creation of a track in the Boothbay region, will be held Saturday, July 28. The event, hosted by the Boothbay Region Athletic Boosters Club, will also include a 1-mile fun run for kids.

The race begins on Emery Lane next to Boothbay Region High School (Townsend Avenue) and winds along Boothbay Harbor’s scenic vistas and back to Emery Lane.

Registration begins at 6:30 a.m. The 5K run/walk will begin at 8 a.m.; the kids’ run begins at 9 a.m. Participants may register online at www.lobsterroll5k.com or a registration form is available at Harbor Embroidery (633-0601) on Commercial Street, Boothbay Harbor.

Cost: $20 preregistration and $25 on the day of the race. The kids’ race is $5.

Awards will be presented to the top three finishers and the top three in various age divisions for both females and males. T-shirts will be provided to all who preregister by Saturday, July 21. There will be a limited supply of T-shirts available on race day.
