Dear Editor:

I just wanted to publicly thank everyone in the area for all the help they gave us to help us find our dog, Cooper.

He took off while we were at the Cross River Preserve on Sept. 28. He was there one minute and gone the next. We searched all afternoon and into the evening. The next day we continued the search and started posting flyers, putting notices on the internet and contacting everyone in the area we could think of.

Everyone we talked to was so kind and helpful in spreading the word, giving us ideas on how to find him and going out and searching for him themselves. People had stories of dogs found and were positive that he would turn up. We looked all weekend and then we found him this Monday morning when I was checking the preserve once again. He was fine and no worse for wear for his four nights in the wild.
