An unknown catamaran operator was rescued just off shore in Linekin Bay near Barrett’s Park in Boothbay Harbor Monday afternoon after the vessel overturned.

U.S. Coast Guard personnel from West Boothbay Harbor arrived within minutes of the boat being reported overturned and brought the boater aboard their boat. Boothbay Region Ambulance Service attendants were waiting on a float nearby and the Coast Guard brought the boater to the float. BRAS later reported that the boater did not need any medical assistance.

Local firefighters and police also responded to the scene.
