'Sugar, Sex and Poison: Shocking Plant Secrets Caught on Camera'
The Southport Island Association is proud to present “Sugar, Sex and Poison: Shocking Plant Secrets Caught on Camera,” a free lecture given by William Cullina, the Executive Director of Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens. Bill is a nationally recognized authority on North American native plants, a noted author, photographer and lecturer. In addition, he and his family are Southport residents.
Plants are the base of both human and non-human food chains, and possess an incredible arsenal of attributes to grow, thrive and survive the attacks of herbivores. Their complex world is a fascinating subject that will be illustrated with photos and narrative. Bill will show how sound horticultural and agricultural practices translate to results we can all benefit from.
Southport residents and others interested in the topic are encouraged to join us at the Southport Town Hall on Thursday, July 19, at 7 p.m.
