Pizza artistry in Damariscotta

Sun, 03/22/2015 - 8:45am

Chef Bennett Collins of Harvest Moon Pizza, whose organic wood-fired pizza is familiar to shoppers at the Rising Tide Market in Damariscotta, as well as to patrons of his popular Waldoboro restaurant, will demonstrate his pizza artistry on Tuesday, March 24, 6-8 p.m., at the FARMS Community Kitchen, 323 Main Street, Damariscotta (above the Rising Tide Market).

Come sit on one of the comfortable stools around the Community Kitchen’s central island and learn from Bennett as he demonstrates the preparation of dough, provides hints for success, and invites participants to join in completing toppings and sauces. Weather permitting, there will even be an opportunity to bake your pies in Bennett’s portable Harvest Moon wood-fire oven. Please dress to spend part of the class outside at the oven.

The cost of $15 plus a $5 materials fee includes a generous sampling of the finished products. Class size is limited, so reserve your space by leaving a message on the FARMS phone at 563-1161, or send your name and a check for $20 to FARMS, P.O. Box 421, Damariscotta, ME 04543.
