Kickstart Stables hosts Business After Hours
Kickstart Stables will host a Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours on Wednesday, Oct. 1 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Kickstart Stables Executive Director Rebecca Abbott welcomes all chamber members to The World is Mine Oyster, located at 16 Wharf Street in Boothbay Harbor. There will be hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.
The main goal of Kickstart is to provide a facility that will offer state of the art riding equipment and certified instructed lessons for hippotherapy services, also known as therapeutic riding. The benefits of therapeutic riding for children and adults suffering from emotional and physical disabilities or from injuries has proven to be beneficial in improving motor skills, building self confidence and trust for participants. The facility will have a full time PATH certified instructor on site and state of the art equipment so there will be no limitations as to the children and adults we can assist.
With so many people having a passion for horses, the Kickstart Board of Directors is hoping that this project will put many smiles on many faces. They are excited about the therapy component of the facility, but also to be a place where kids can get off the bus, and be kids. With the additional services such as events and camps. They are hoping to contribute to the economics of the community. The board of directors is working with Reny Construction and Morton Builders for the development of the site.
Business After Hours events are open to members and non-members, and everyone from the business community is encouraged to participate. The event is complimentary to chamber members and $10 per person for non-members, which goes to support a stipend for our summer intern. We have several Business After Hours scheduled so far and welcome more with an average attendance of 80 people. Please register to attend by visiting www.boothbayharbor.com or calling 207-633-2353.
