Lions enjoy cookout

The Boothbay Region Lions Club held its first summer cookout at Mike and Susie Giles home on Sunday, Aug. 31 with 21 members in attendance, along with spouses and friends. Thirty-five hungry people, with the youngest being 5 weeks old, and our charter member Harry Pinkham, enjoyed the food and fun.
Chef John Perreault cooked up hamburgers and hot dogs, with members making a variety of salads and desserts. Plans are set for next year's cookout to bring the club members together.
Our first meeting will be Wednesday, Sept. 10 with a full schedule for our new year. Please come and join us and see what we have planned for this year.
