New board members
On September 10, at the first fall meeting of the Boothbay Region Student Aid Fund, newly elected board president Bill Bailey welcomed new board members Susan Norton, Ingrid Roveillo and Bradford Hastings. All live in the Boothbay region.
Susan Norton has lived in Boothbay for more than 20 years. Born in Augusta and a graduate of Smith College in Northampton, Mass., Norton works for The First bank as an executive vice president overseeing the bank’s human resources.
A mother of two school-age children, Norton also serves on the Boothbay-Boothbay Harbor Community School District School Committee, and is a past board member of the Boothbay Region Y and Boothbay Region District Nursing.
Ingrid Roveillo brings a distinctive and valued international perspective to the Boothbay Region Student Aid Fund. Born in Norway, Roveillo resided for many years in Africa, the Middle East and South America before settling permanently in the U.S. She has an earned degree in accounting from the University of Houston, Texas. Roveillo comes to the Boothbay Region Student Aid Fund board as a relative newcomer to the world of board membership.
Brad Hastings is a seasoned veteran of organization boards. As headmaster of the Pomfret School in Pomfret, Conn. from 1993-2011, he knows the intricacies of board membership intimately, in particular the importance of fundraising.
A graduate of the University of Connecticut with a master's of education from Harvard, Hastings held positions as dean of students and assistant headmaster at Deerfield Academy before moving on to Promfret.
In addition to their wonderful spirit of voluntarism, Norton, Roveillo and Hastings all bring special and needed talents to the vital and unique work of the Boothbay Region Student Aid Fund whose mission seeks to ensure that all Boothbay region students receive the necessary financial resources to pursue post-secondary education.
