Edgecomb Column: Help out in the Edgecomb Eddy garden
Edgecomb Eddy second graders, along with Mrs. Garey and Mrs. Benton, have been back at work in the garden, and they could use your help over the summer. They've expanded the garden, and the new area will be used to grow more garlic this fall with the new second grade class.
Becky Benton reports: I'm hoping that we can grow and sell different varieties of garlic this fall to help support the garden activities. We have seven different varieties of garlic growing now, and, if all goes well, we'll have a bumper crop this July."
If you have the time to stop in and weed over the summer, it would be greatly appreciated!
We have two holidays coming this weekend: Saturday, June 14, is Flag Day; Sunday, June 15, is Father's Day. Flags of our Fathers, indeed! And then, of course, June 16 is the final day of school.
And the Sheepscot Valley Conservation Association is celebrating its 45th anniversary! We went to their festive Italian wine tasting at Rising Tide on Friday, and came away with two bottles: a Soave white and a Corvina red, which we will use to celebrate Flag Day and Father's Day. How's that for maximum celebratory efficiency at 234 River Road, 207-633-2978 and jocam@tidewater.net?
