George McEvoy of Boothbay Harbor and Laurie McEvoy of Englewood, Fla., and Southport are thrilled to announce the engagement of their daughter, Katelin Rebecca, to Matthew Robert Rice, son of Dennis and (the late) Sharon Rice of East Boothbay.

Kate graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a bachelor’s degree in family & child studies. She is a pre-Kindergarten teacher at Boothbay Region Elementary School.

Matt graduated from Boothbay Region High School and is a self-employed lobsterman. He also works for Blake’s Boatyard in the winter months.

Kate and Matt will exchange vows at the McEvoy residence in Boothbay Harbor on August 16, 2014.

The couple resides in Boothbay Harbor with Matt’s son, Sullivan.
