Newspaper’s domestic violence resource page up and running
The Boothbay Register/Wiscasset Newspaper continue their commitment to educate the public about the many forms of domestic violence by creating a resource page on their websites.
The page went live January 1, the first day of National Stalking Awareness Month. Daily social media messages, created by www.stalkingawarenessmonth.org, can be found via a link on the stalking awareness month banner image on our homepage. We invite you to tweet, Facebook or email them as well.
Other information on the resource page includes: Maine laws on stalking, information about protection orders and a report by the United States Department of Justice.
Support agency information on New Hope For Women, Healthy Kids, The Elder Abuse Institute of Maine, the Maine Coalition Against Sexual Assault and Maine's Department of Health and Human Services.
Each resource is accompanied by many of the articles printed by the Boothbay Register on domestic violence over the years.
This page has been created not just to inform, but to instill hope in those who need it. And, to inspire us, as a community, to take a stand against domestic violence and with those whose lives are darkened by it.
