Connect with community during ‘The Summer Read’
Summer reading isn’t just for kids! Join Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library and our partners for an exciting community-wide summer read. “The Summer Read” invites the Boothbay Region to read the same book during the summer and join a book club discussion with other community members.
During July and August, book clubs will be held at the Library and at our partner locations around the region: Bigelow Laboratory, the Boothbay Region Land Trust, St. Andrews Village, and Southport Memorial Library. Visit bbhlibrary.org/thesummerread for a calendar of discussion dates.
So, what are we reading? "Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow" by Gabrielle Zevin is a coming-of-age story that follows two childhood best friends as they reconnect in adulthood and start a revolutionary video game company. The book is a story of friendship, love, failure, and fame that dips into literary and historical fiction.
"Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow" is a New York Times bestseller and was named one of the NYT’s 100 Best Books of the 21st Century, claiming the #7 spot of reader-chosen titles. The book also fits into this year’s kid’s Summer Reading theme: Level Up! At the Library, a theme that dives into games and the excitement of trying new challenges.
Grab a copy of the book and fill out a registration form at the Library starting Tuesday, May 20 (or check out the ebook or audiobook online through Cloudlibrary). Then, attend the book group of your choice to discuss the title with fellow readers. We hope to see you!
